Since opening in downtown El Paso, Texas in 1945, Household Furniture Company has continued to bring friendly service, strong community values, and a wide selection of adult and youth furniture to its customers and their families. Its low prices and versatile assortment of Bedroom, Living Room, Dining Room, and Home Office furniture, as well as Mattresses, Appliances, and TVs, make Household Furniture Company the best furniture shopping experience in town. With the widest selection of Kids Furniture in El Paso, Household makes children feel right at home and helps families build the perfect bedroom for their kids.

Family-owned and operated, Household was opened by Alexander Jaffee and his son Richard Jaffee in 1945. In 1962, the company moved to the Lower Valley on North Loop Street after purchasing property from the new mayor, Ralph Seitsinger. A third generation came to the business in 1978, when Richard’s son Mike joined the company. A few years later, Household moved locations, making the old location the new warehouse. In 1999, Household moved to its current location at 7601 North Loop, and in 2004, its second location – Household Furniture Clearance Store – opened on 7640 North Loop. In 2015 Household Furniture opened store number three in Horizon City on the corner of Eastlake and Darrington. The forth store was opened in West El Paso on S Desert Blvd in 2016. In 2018 Household Furniture moved into a 150,000 square foot facility that is home to company's Headquarters and Distribution Center. Later in 2018, the fifth store was opened on the corner of Zaragoza and North Loop. In May of 2020, Household Furniture opened store number 6 on N Zaragoza Road in the Zaraplex Shopping Center.

Household is also involved in the community. Its main project is a volunteer event in Fabens every Christmas. Household teams up with other families to host an event for those in need. In 2016, over 50 families participated with 179 children total. Each child received a toy, blanket, jacket, and a pair of shoes, while each family received a Christmas food basket and a turkey.
